It is the first international competition of its kind to offer the support of expert legal, design and marketing consultants as part of its prize. The objective is to drive the winning design from concept towards production.
This innovative support package includes the use of an electronics design consultancy to develop the design toward prototype/production stage, legal assistance with Intellectual Property (IP) registration, patents and contracts, and professional public relations and marketing resources. All IP rights are retained by the winner, who will be invited to serve on next year’s live edge judging panel, with industry leaders and technical experts from around the world.
Along with the support package, a US$50,000 cash prize will be awarded, for a total value of US$100,000. Five other designs are also eligible for live edge Honorable Mentions and US$5,000 cash prizes.
