TRADITIONAL BUILDING DESIGN CHALLENGE

New Orleans is synonymous with great food, great music and wonderful architecture. Wherever you go in New Orleans, history surrounds you. From Creole Cottages of the oldest French and Spanish neighborhoods to the Shotgun Doubles of the 19th century neighborhoods, New Orleans architecture has captured the hearts and imaginations of visitors for hundreds of years.

Working with set parameters, such as lot size, square footage, and style, your task for three days will be to design and hand-draw a new “old” house for one of New Orleans’ most famous historic districts. The winning design will be donated to a family who lost their home to Hurricane Katrina.

All entries must be received by Sept. 7, 2007
