The prizes amount to 5.000 euro to be divided between the five winning projects. Each participant can present up to five projects for consideration. The winners will also have the chance to participate in the development and the realization of one of the new WOND (Wallpaper On Demand) collections specifically designed for hotel rooms. New Orleans is synonymous with great food, great music and wonderful architecture. Wherever you go in New Orleans, history surrounds you. From Creole Cottages of the oldest French and Spanish neighborhoods to the Shotgun Doubles of the 19th century neighborhoods, New Orleans architecture has captured the hearts and imaginations of visitors for hundreds of years.

Working with set parameters, such as lot size, square footage, and style, your task for three days will be to design and hand-draw a new “old” house for one of New Orleans’ most famous historic districts. The winning design will be donated to a family who lost their home to Hurricane Katrina.

Incheon International Design Fair 2007

Incheon Metropolitan City and a hub city of Northeast Asia invites designers from around the world to participate in the Incheon International Design Competition, a major event of the Incheon International Design Fair 2007.

The Incheon International Design Competition targets previously unpublished new design works and is divided into two sections; a Free section and a Business section.

The competition is open to all designers from around the world.

World famous and authoritative designers will participate as jury of the competition.

A prize pool totaling more than KRW 61 million will be awarded to talented designers.

Encouraging your creative spirit is Incheon's way of transforming itself into the center of design activity in Northeast Asia.

Competition will be divided into sections of First Round Submissions, First Round Review, Second Round Submissions and Second Round Review.

BD4D + Wellcome Trust Competition. Call for entries

BD4D in association with The Wellcome Trust would like to introduce it's first annual interactive design competition. We are looking for highly creative, playful and engaging submissions to be added to the new Welcome Collection. The winners of the competition will win Apple hardware and have their work showcased within the Wellcome Collection gallery in Central London, as well as, on The Wellcome Collection and BD4D websites.

Knight Foundation has launched year two of the Knight News Challenge and plans to award as much as $5 million for innovative ideas using digital experiments to transform community news. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 15, 2007.

Do you have a big idea for building community using bits and bytes? Cell phone documentaries? New operating software for news collectors? Journalism games? Nothing is too far out to qualify. With the slogan "You Invent It. We Fund It!" the contest is open to community-minded innovators worldwide, from software designers to journalists to citizens and students of any age.

In the 20th century, newspapers helped foster community in cities and towns across the country by providing news, information and commentary that helped citizens understand their common interests and opportunities. In that same spirit, the Knight News Challenge contest aims to use digital communities to enhance physical communities and improve the lives of people where they live, work and vote.

The International Library of Photography is now accepting entries for its amateur photography competition. The contest is open to everyone and entry is free.

"Everyone has at least one memorable photo that captures a special moment in time," stated Jeffrey Bryan of The International Library of Photography, an organization dedicated to bringing the work of amateur photographers to the public's attention.
