Design and Logo Contest for an eBay consignment site
The site is an eBay consignment site for Austin, Texas. Basically, we pick up items from a person's house, appraise the items, sell them on eBay, and then pay them proceeds (minus a commission). We handle the item photos, creating the listing, and shipping the item.
The site template should be simple and clean. Here is a quick sketch of the type of site we are looking for (http://takesellpay.com/tsp.jpg). The sketch really sucks, but should give you an idea of the site elements we need. The design needs to have several graphics/photos added to it. The graphics/photos can be stock items. The logo in the sketch is only a place holder. We don't want anything like it.
The logo will also be used in print advertising and on T-Shirts. It should be simple and fun, please don't use too many colors.
The color scheme is left to the designer, but please use conservative colors.

Connected Services Sandbox Mashup Service Design and Assembly Competitions
Microsoft and British Telecom, in association with TopCoder, will run a series of Connected Services Sandbox Mashup Service Design and Assembly competitions. In these competitions, developers from Sandbox member organizations, as well as freelance application developers, can collaborate and compete to generate new mashup service designs and then build functional prototypes of those designs.
Through this series of competitions, Sandbox members can take advantage of a "no-shore" pool of creative talent to design and assemble working prototypes of services which could result in commercialized deployments in service provider networks .

Original copies of entries, which must be unpublished, are to be submitted or mailed (by recorded delivery if the participant so wishes) to the offices of Bodegas Terras Gauda offices in O Rosal (Galicia, Spain). All entries must be submitted in two formats:
- Recorded on a CD or diskette (in PC-readable format)
- Printed and affixed to light card, suitably protected, with a size 50x70 cm.
Any form of photographic, painting or computerised techniques, etc may be used.
Under exceptional circumstances originals created using painting techniques (oil, watercolours, guasch, pastels, etc) may be accepted without a computerised format.
Each participant is allowed to present a maximum of two entries.
Participant may base their entries on the theme of their choice, although ideally they will reflect corporate issues of the organising company, principally relating to its white wines of the Albariño variety Terras Gauda and AbadÃa de San Campio wines. Credit will be given for creativity and the incorporation of the Company's logo into the design.

The 10th ICFP Programming Contest
The ICFP Programming Contest is a programming competition to be held the weekend of July 20 - 23, 2007. The results of the contest will be announced at the International Conference on Functional Programming in Freiburg, Germany, in October 2007.
Task
We will publish the task here at the start of the contest.
Dates and Times
The contest will run from July 20 to July 23, 2007. The contest task will be announced at 12:00 (noon) CEST (Central European Summer Time, or Central European Daylight Time) on Friday, and we will accept entries until 12:00 (noon) CEST on Monday.
For the lightning division, entries will be accepted until 12:00 (noon) CEST on Saturday, July 21.
Prizes
There will be four prizes: First, and second place, lightning division as well as a discretionary judges' prize. Prize money will be awarded to help defray the costs of travel to the contest for the winners and for small cash prizes. In addition, the organizers will declare during the conference that
- The first place team's language is the programming language of choice for discriminating hackers,
- the second place team's language is a fine tool for many applications,
- the lightning division team's language is very suitable for rapid prototyping,
- and the team winning the judge's prize is an extremely cool bunch of hackers.

Header Design, Uncoded - $1000
This contest is for a header with the same basic layout as www.military.com. We do NOT want a copy of this header, but we do want the same basic layout / shape.
The header should be 970 pixels by 100 pixels and leave space on the left hand side for a logo approx 250 pixels x 70 pixels(see our other contest!). We need tabs for Home, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and National Guard.
We will also need variations for each branch of the military. So we need a General military header for "Home" and then one for Army, one for Navy etc. These can be the same header, we just want it tweaked a little towards each branch.
The winner will need to provide the final JPG and PSD format of the header.

DOTMOV FESTIVAL 2007
DOTMOV Festival 2007 is a digital film festival with an aim to discover talented creators and provide them with an opportunity to show their work. Submitted works throughout the world will be screened at Soso Cafe which is produced by an online magazine Shift for a month, from November 1st to 30th. Last year's total submission was 267 works from 27 countries. All selected works for this year will be shown on Shift web site. Type and typography play a key role in the realm of visual communication – today more than ever. In a world where one is constantly subject to written information (from the mobile phone to the shop next door), type has never been so present in our lives as it is today. Commercial enterprises, advertising, and our dependence on electronic devices have strongly influenced the ways in which typography defines our visual culture. Typography has literally stepped off the pages of the book and into the rush of today’s traffic. Of the thousands of typefaces present in our environment, very few have attained the spread and popularity that is known to Helvetica.
Linotype invites designers to submit their poster design work that has been published between 2000 and 2007 and that uses Helvetica as a primary or secondary typeface. This contest also invites participants to submit posters (published, unpublished, or new designs) that revolve around the role of type in modern day life, and the way that typography – and Helvetica – affects our perception of the environment. The message and the visual exploration of Helvetica’s presence in our lives are open to every designer’s interpretation, and the use of photography is allowed.

Indonesia Printer Design Awards '07 (IPDA'07) adalah suatu bentuk kesadaran sosial dan komunitas yang digagas oleh Indonesia Printer bekerja sama dengan Metro TV dan FDGI dalam bentuk kompetisi desain grafis yang dikhususkan untuk mahasiswa.
Pada tanggal 12 Juni 2007, telah diselenggarakan 'Lunch Briefing' antara pihak panitia IPDA'07 dengan beberapa perwakilan dari sekolah/perguruan tinggi yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan desain grafis, perwakilan asosiasi (dalam hal ini ADGI) dan perwakilan perusahaan komputer, permesinan cetak dan penyedia kertas sebagai pendukung acara. Dalam acara ini, dipresentasikan tentang maksud dan tujuan acara, serta menginformasikan teknis penyelenggaraan IPDA'07.
IPDA'07 merupakan suatu langkah awal untuk kedepannya dijadikan dasar penyelenggaraan IPDA yang lebih komprehensif. IPDA diproyeksikan untuk menjadi ajang tahunan, berguna sebagai forum kolaborasi dan apresiasi untuk profesional dan mahasiswa di bidang desain grafis. FIAE 2007 aims to contribute to the discovery and revealing of new films and new directors, within the universe of erotic animation, in Brazil and abroad.

The EU information campaign ‘For Diversity. Against Discrimination.’ is inviting photography, art and design students from across the EU to make a creative statement for diversity by entering its "Breaking Stereotypes" Photo Competition. Students are asked to create a photo or photo collage that promotes diversity and appeals to a young audience.
An international jury of photographers, young artists and well-known experts in the fields of design and communication will select the best photos. Contributions will be judged according to their creativity and originality, as well as universal European appeal.
